Similarly, the process of delivering basement projects requires a number of logical steps to be followed, from Design, through Planning Permission and Party Wall Agreements to the Logistics and Construction phase.  These steps are summarised below: 

STEP 1 – DESIGN

In the first instance you need to undertake a feasibility study, which will identify the potential for  a basement development.  This will take account of the following limiting factors:

• Planning compliance
• Structural viability
• Utilisation of the available space
• Construction Logistics
• Cost

We will then undertake a full design that meets with your design brief and exceeds your aspirations for the basement.

STEP 2 – PLANNING PERMISSION

Without question you will need to secure planning consent for your basement development.

STEP 3 – PARTY WALL AGREEMENTS

In most instances you will need to enter into an agreement with your neighbours to undertake a basement development.  This is because these works will very likely require works that will impact shared party walls. 

We will appoint a Party Wall Surveyor on your behalf & work with them to handle  all the necessary negotiations to secure the Party Wall Agreement.
